Transparent pricing.
No surprises.
We provide written estimates for every job. Before any work begins, you know what it will cost, what's included, and what happens if something changes.
Factors that influence the price of plumbing work
Every job is different. Here are the main factors that affect the cost of plumbing and heating work.
Scope of works
The number of items to be installed or repaired, and the complexity of each task.
Materials
The type, quality, and quantity of materials required. We specify materials appropriate for the application.
Access
Whether pipework is concealed, in a loft, or requires specialist access equipment or scaffolding.
Condition of existing system
Older or corroded systems may require additional preparation work before new installations can be made.
Property type
Listed buildings, conservation areas, or properties with unusual construction may require additional consideration.
Urgency
Emergency callouts outside normal working hours may carry a higher rate, which is always stated upfront.
Understanding the difference
We use these terms precisely because the distinction matters to you as a client.
A quote is a fixed price for a clearly defined scope of works. If the scope doesn't change, the price doesn't change. Quotes are appropriate where the work is straightforward and the scope can be fully defined upfront.
An estimate is an informed assessment of likely cost where some uncertainty exists — for example, where the extent of a repair can't be fully determined until work begins. We explain the basis of any estimate and the circumstances under which it might vary.
- We always make clear which we are providing
- Variations are discussed before being charged
- Nothing is added to the bill without your agreement
When a survey is the right first step
For larger or more complex projects — such as a full heating system installation, a bathroom conversion, or a commercial fit-out — a site survey is the most reliable way to produce an accurate estimate.
During a survey, we assess the existing installation, take measurements, identify any constraints, and discuss your requirements in detail. This allows us to produce an estimate that accurately reflects the work involved.
- Accurate estimates based on actual site conditions
- Identification of constraints before work begins
- Opportunity to discuss options and alternatives
- Reduces the risk of variations during the works
