Whether it's a single tap replacement or a full heating system installation, every APL job follows the same structured process.

Discovery & Enquiry

You contact us via our online form, describing the work you need. We review your enquiry and respond within one business day. If we need more information, we'll ask specific questions rather than sending a generic response.

What we need from you: a clear description of the work, your postcode, and an indication of urgency. Photos are helpful for repair work.

Assessment

For straightforward jobs, we assess the scope from your description and any photos. For larger or more complex projects, we arrange a site visit to inspect the existing installation, take measurements, and identify any constraints.

Site visits are carried out at a time convenient to you. We arrive on time and typically take 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the project scope.

Written Estimate

We produce a written estimate that sets out the scope of works, the materials we intend to use, and the expected timescale. We make clear whether we are providing a fixed-price quote or an estimate, and explain the circumstances under which the cost might vary.

The estimate is sent by email and remains valid for 30 days. You can take as long as you need to review it.

Scheduling

When you confirm you want to proceed, we schedule the works at a time that suits you. We confirm the date, start time, and expected duration in writing. For larger projects, we provide a programme of works.

We aim to accommodate your preferred timing where possible. We confirm all bookings in writing so there's no ambiguity.

Works Carried Out

We arrive on time, introduce ourselves, and walk through the planned works with you before starting. We use protective coverings, work cleanly, and keep you informed of progress. If we encounter anything unexpected, we discuss it with you before proceeding.

We do not carry out additional chargeable work without your agreement. Any variation is documented and agreed in writing.

Completion & Handover

On completion, we test the works, clean the area, and walk you through what was done. We provide a written completion summary that records the works carried out, any observations, and any recommended follow-up actions.

The completion summary is sent by email. It forms a useful record for insurance, future maintenance, and property sale purposes.
